Our Wood Supply
Located in the heart of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region, the Livradois valley is predominantly composed of coniferous forests. Therefore, we source our raw materials locally.
Our annual requirement for softwood round-wood (spruce, fir, Douglas fir, pine) is approximately 200,000 m3.
We purchase both logs and bolts. LIVRA-BOIS is committed to sustainable development; the majority of our supplies come from first and second thinnings.
Our PEFC chain of custody ensures the traceability of our products.
Parcel fragmentation in forested areas is a characteristic of our geographical sector. We process over 1,500 wood lots annually within a 100 km radius of the sawmill.
Our buyers, qualified and experienced forestry technicians, maintain long-term relationships with forest owners. This enables us to understand their expectations and support the development of their properties from both a silvicultural and economic perspective.
In an effort to invigorate our region, we entrust the harvesting of our timber cuts to local forestry contractors who prioritize environmental conservation.
